Prophet Ibrahim

Ibrahim was a believer of one God who blessed him with a son in his old age whom he named Ismail. When Hagera and Ismail were without water in the desert, God communicated with Ismail through an angel who instructed him to strike the sand with his heel and then water gushed through the sand.
When Ismail was growing up, God tested Ibrahim's faith, through a vision, God asked him to sacrifice his son Ismail. But last minute God accepted his faith and asked Ibrahim to sacrifice a goat instead and feed family and poor.
In later years, Ibrahim and his adult son built the Kaab in Mecca to commemorate the events.

Blessed with heir at the age of 85

"Lo! We bring you good tidings of a boy possessing wisdom."
Al Hijr - Al Hijr verse 53

“Lord, grant me a righteous son, so we gave him the good news that he would have a patient Son. When the boy was old enough to work with his father, Ibrahim said my son, I have seen myself sacrificing you in a dream. What do you think? He said, father do as you are commanded and, God willing, you will find me steadfast. When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on the side of his face, we called out to him Ibrahim you have fulfilled the dream. This is how we reward those who do good. It was a test to prove their true characters, we ransomed his son with a momentous sacrifice and we let him be praised by succeeding generations, peace be upon Ibrahim! This is how we reward those who do good: truly he was one of our faithful servants”
Al Saffat - Ranged in rows verse 100-112

And [then] he said, “Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous”. So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, “O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think?” He said, “O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast”. And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, We called to him, “O Abraham, You have fulfilled the vision.” Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: “Peace upon Abraham”. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself.
Al Saffat - Ranged in rows verse 100 - 107

And when his God tested Ibrahim with various commands, and he proved true to each one. He (God) said, “ indeed I have made you a leader of humanity.” He (Ibrahim) said (requesting of God), “and from my progeny.”
Al Baqara - The Cow verse 124

Construction of the Kaaba in Mecca

As Ibrahim and Ismail built up the foundations of the house, they prayed,
“ Our Lord, accept this from us. You are the all hearing the all knowing. Our Lord make us devoted to you, show us how to worship and accept our repentance, for you are the ever relenting the most merciful. Our Lord make a messenger of their own, to rise up from among them, recite your revelations to them, teach them the scripture and wisdom, and purify them: you are the mighty, the wise”.
Al Baqara - The Cow verse 127-130

It was here, in this blessed land, that God chose to bless Ibrahim with progeny. “We (God) bestowed upon him Isaac, and (a grandson) Jacob. Each one We made righteous.”
Quran 21:72

God protects Ibrahim from the fire

The Quran shows Ibrahim's passion for God and his shunning of the idols when it narrates the story of Ibrahim smashing the idols. Ibrahim said “How can you worship what can neither benefit nor harm you, instead of Allah? Shame on you and on the things you worship instead of God. Have you no sense? They said, burn him and avenge your Gods if you are going to do the right thing”. But we said, “fire, be cool and safe for Ibrahim”
Al Anbiya - The Prophets verse 66-69

"We[Allah] said, "O fire! be coolness and safety upon Abraham."
Chap 21 verse 69

Proof of resurrection to reassure Ibrahim

And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said, 'My Lord! Show me how You give life to the dead.' He (Allah) said, 'Do you not believe?' He [Ibrahim] said, 'Yes (I believe), but to assure my heart.' He said, 'Take four birds, then cause them to incline towards you (then slaughter them, cut them into pieces), and then put a portion of them on every hill, and call them, they will come to you in haste. And know that Allah is All-Mighty, All- Wise.
The Cow- Al Baqarah verse 260

Abraham and a Calm Heart

Prophet Abraham's story with the birds is one of the most turned to stories in the Quran. The theme it evokes touches the soul of all of us who seek a kind of reassurance birdthat satisfies our natural desires for both belief and proof. The Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) asks: “My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” He said, “Do you not believe?” He said, “I do! But this is so my heart may be calm.” He said, ”Then take four birds and draw them to you. Then place a part of them on each mountain. Then call them; they shall come to you in a rush. And know that indeed Allah is overpowering, all-wise”
The Cow- Al Baqarah verse 260
